Uplift Events designed and executed the perfect amount of challenges and pursuit stages in the 2 hour event. There was a perfect combination of mental and physical challenges and each team member could contribute to completing each stage as different skills were required.

Being able to tailor the event exactly to my group’s needs was a great experience and no request was too difficult for the Uplift Events staff. I supplied bottles of water and snacks for each race participant and Uplift Events gladly handed these out at the beginning of the race. I was also given the race results at the end so that I could distribute the prizes during our after-race BBQ. The Uplift Events staff members running the event were extremely enthusiastic and easy to work with.

After the race, people kept telling me how much fun they had and how different this type of event was for a social function. It really brought everyone together not only during the race but afterwards as we shared hilarious stories of how each team completed the various challenges. It was fantastic to not only help organize this event but to participate in it as well. My teammates and I had a blast testing our memory and problem-solving skills, and we just laughed our entire way to the finishing line!

Thank you once again Uplift Events for all your efforts in ensuring our group had the best possible experience. There is talk of this race becoming an annual social event so I look forward to working with you in the future. In the meantime, I will continue to spread the word about how Uplift Events helped make our 2010 social event one to remember!”

The request of ‘different events from last year’ was really catered for. The challenges were an excellent mix and completely different from last year which made it a brand new race for repeat offenders.

Once again, Uplift Events exceeded the goals I wanted to achieve by running this event.

I already have recommended Uplift Events to numerous people. Also when I would talk about the event I was organizing, so many people wanted to participate, though they weren’t part of the group I was organizing it for.

I had acquired quite a bit of sponsorship money to hold the event so payment for the event was not much of a worry. Despite that fact, I believe that Uplift Events charge a reasonable amount per person given the number of staff required to host the events and the amount of organizing required to put an event together.

Again, the event ran for us this year by Uplift Events was an excellent experience and everyone had a blast completing all the challenges.”

From the initial contact with Uplift Events the communication and planning leading up to the race day was very professional. During my planning I was forced to make some late changes and was also delayed providing information leading up to the day of the race. Your coordinator was very flexible and able to accommodate all of my requirements. The race itself was run smoothly and the Uplift Events team spread across the various stages were enthusiastic and friendly. The comments I received after the race was that the experience was more fun than they have expected and they had participated more than intended. Others commented that the blend of physical and mental activity made this the best team building activity they had experienced.

“A great day was had by the Year 10 students at Loreto Mandeville Hall as they participated in the Great Pursuit in Melbourne on Friday 6 May 2011. The girls enjoyed all stages of the event and were excited about being given clues and challenges with which to navigate through the CBD. They valued the trust given to them and the independent decision making required to successfully complete the day’s activities. The day promoted team work, communication skills, problem solving skills, leadership skills and orienteering skills. It was a busy, exciting and fun-filled educational day.

Uplift Events were very approachable, flexible and efficient in planning this day for our students. Regular contact between us was maintained in the lead up to the event to ensure the smooth running of the day. Uplift was very professional in their approach and worked very well with our students during the actual event. The staff were encouraging, kind and cheerful with our students.

After the completion of the event, feedback was sought from us and the administrative matters were completed very efficiently and in a timely manner.Our students thoroughly enjoyed the Great Pursuit and certainly found the experience unique, educational and fun! For many students, this events was the highlight of exploring and learning about their own city.”

“Last Week the Year Eight cohort at MGGS were fortunate enough to participate in an ‘Amazing Race’ style day which was run by Uplift Events as part of our Year 9 transition day. After a quick explanation of the rules, we were allocated our groups and then the race began. First we had to jog to Federation Square as quickly as we could without using public transport. That was the first challenge as we were not all ready to exercise first thing in the morning! The day consisted of us visiting places such as ACMI, the National Gallery of Victoria, Eureka Tower and the Botanical Gardens. Although these are all places most of us were very familiar with, we saw things in a different light when we had to search for specific things in order to answer the questions on our list.

We came to realize the importance of teamwork when we were in the Botanical Gardens and somehow our group was separated when one half lagged behind and took a wrong turn. It took us a while to find each other but we eventually did through teamwork!

My favorite activity of the day was a memory challenge where we had to run to look at some images a few meters away, memorise as many as we could and then run back to the group and try and place the pictures on a board in the correct order. It took my group around three goes to finally get it correct but it required a lot of team work and gave us a few giggles too! The overall day was very exciting, a lot of fun and definitely challenging. It was a great bonding experience for everyone and helped me get to know some of the girls in my year level better that I don’t usually hang out with. I would thoroughly recommend this activity to everyone!​”

The idea for participating in this type of event was to foster team work and staff morale as well as being able to spend time together away from our usual work environment.

The day turned out to be highly successful and far exceeded our expectations as to the participation by the staff and the way that they all approached the challenges with 100% commitment. “Our experience of the Uplift Events “Pentridge Prison Break” was a very positive one. We are an office of 60 staff members and I wanted something that was both fun and challenging to start off our Christmas celebrations. I was not disappointed.

“Thank you very much for all the work you’ve put in that allowed us to have a great team building event.

Right from the start our competitive sides came out and the race was on. All teams had a great time racing through the city and solving the tasks. Having said that, a number of people found it rather challenging to do a lot of fast walking / running, although they didn’t actually need to as public transport was a good alternative (especially trams) and it may have been an illusion to think running will get us faster to the next destination.

I really liked the strict, smiley, helpful and occasionally forgiving nature of the all the staff at Uplift Events. I thought the race was…. Just right. Not too long, not too short and covered a good range of tasks something for everyone. Even as the LUCKY LAST team…. It’s a team building exercise I would happily do again. It was about the journey and experience – which was a lot of fun.”
