Public Murder Mansion Events
What Is It?
Who murdered Elizabeth Sutton?
Murder Mansion is an exciting strategic event where teams are transported back in time to solve a 1920’s cold case murder of Elizabeth Sutton and remove her haunting. Similar to an escape room, the event requires lateral thinking and problem solving to solve a series of complex puzzles and clues to crack the cold case.
Teams of 5 to 6 people will need to put on their detective hats to find out who the murderer is, what murder weapon was used and the motive behind the murder.
Once teams have solved all the puzzles, they will submit their findings and debrief with the entire group as to how they arrived at their conclusion. Communication, problem solving, lateral thinking, logic and reasoning will be the key to each team solving the mystery.
The public Murder Mansion will be run in the eerie Great Hall at Montsalvat. Gothic balconies and limestone windows give the Great Hall its French provincial characteristics. Teams will get to explore the small corridors and hidden spaces adorned with historic chandeliers, antique furniture and the stone balconies.
If you think you have got what it takes to solve the murder, gather your family and friends or work colleagues and test your puzzle solving skills and teamwork against other teams! Ideal for your mid year function as corporates can enter as part of their end of financial year celebration!
How To Register

An information pack will be e-mailed to teams approximately 1 week before the event date confirming their registration and the event rules.

Teams of up to 5 or 6 people
$325 incl GST ($65pp) for a team of up to 5 people
$360 incl GST ($60pp) for a team of up to 6 people
The minimum age to compete is 16 years old. All participants under 18 years of age must have their guardian sign the waiver form prior to participating.
Each event is 2.5 hours long.
Date & Time
- Event 1 – Sunday 8th July 2018 – 10:00am – 12:30pm
- Event 2 – Sunday 8th July 2018 – 2:00pm – 4:30pm
Registrations close Wednesday, 4th July 2018 or when sold out.
If you have registered and cannot make it to the event, please call us on 1300 UPLIFT (875 438) at least 10 days prior to the event date to see if there is availability to move you to another time or date – there are no guarantees. No changes will be accepted within 10 days of the event date. If you do not show up to the event on your registered date and time, you will not be placed in another event.
If a particular event date does not receive a minimum number of registrations, Uplift Events reserves the right to move the teams registered for that date to another event date and time OR cancel the event.

What Is Provided
Each team will be provided with:
- All equipment and props for challenges
- Access to Monsalvat
- Opportunity to explore and tour Montsalvat and it’s grounds after the event
- Medals for the team that solves the murder correctly and the quickest
- Professionally run event with event staff and a host
- A guaranteed mind blowing and atmospheric experience
- Bandanas for each participant (to be returned at the end of the event)
Part of the fun and spirit of the event is for teams to get into character and to look and play the part of investigators.
Teams are encouraged to come dressed as investigators / sleuths.
What To Bring
- Thinking caps
- A competitive spirit, comfortable shoes, a jacket / warm top
- Costumes etc to help you get into character and look like investigators
- Water and snacks
- A digital camera or smart phone to take photos after the event
