Ever wondered what it would be like to abseil face first down the side of a seven storey building? Uplift Events now offers this experience for both corporate and private groups! Rap Jumping is a great team event where individuals jump face first down the side of a building overcoming their fears and increasing their team unity in the process. Conducted in the heart of Melbourne, Rap Jumping is truly unique and an uplifting way to spend a morning or afternoon out of the office. Each person will have the opportunity to have three jumps and the event can be held for as few as 10 people. November 2008 - Launch of new event - Rap Jumping

Season 13 of The Amazing Race on Channel 7
  Season 13 of The Amazing Race is now on at 8.30pm on Channel 7 on Thursday nights. This season's teams include:
- an ex-NFL player
- a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader
- two fraternity brothers and
- two older hippiess.


Anaconda Adventure Race in Lorne – Lets Get it On!
  The Anaconda Adventure Race in Lorne will be held on Sunday December 7th and is the one stop shop for those looking for an adventure, active relaxation or a bit of both.

If you were part of the mammoth 2007 event at Lorne you will recall the electric atmosphere of nearly 1100 competitors charged and ready for action, you’ll remember the sweat and the pain of racing but recollect the glory of running down the finish chute as an adventure racing hero - well this year we are determined go bigger! You are unstoppable.

We’ve tweaked the course just a little but kept the same spectacular scenery, the same sense of adventure and the awesome atmosphere that has made ‘The Anaconda’ a benchmark event around the country. The 2008 Anaconda Adventure Race at Lorne is going to be huge and we invite you to come and get it on.

St George Melbourne Amazing Race ®
  St.George Bank, Australia's fifth largest retail bank offers personal, business and commercial banking solutions, wealth management, financial planning and more.

Objectives
After a morning conference and learning valuable company skills the members of St George embarked on the Melbourne Amazing Race ®. The Race was seen as a way in which everyone could adapt their recently acquired skills into real life situations.

Result
The Race proved to be an important and ultimately fun part of St George’s conference. All teams were successfully able to apply what they had learnt from the conference and use it to their benefit in completing many fun and challenging team activities.

Victoria Police Melbourne Amazing Race ®
  Victoria Police contributes to a high quality of life for individuals in the community by ensuring a safe and secure society and underpins the economic, social and cultural wellbeing of Victoria.

Objectives
A team building activity for The Thin Blue Line department of the Victoria Police.

Result
The participants’ orienteering skills were tested as many had to use their maps as well as local knowledge to find their way to the different locations. The comfort of Crown’s Tangerine bar’s couches were well appreciated after a fun day seeing the sights of Melbourne.

Tournament of Minds Great Melbourne Pursuit
  Tournament of Minds is a problem solving program for teams of students from both primary and secondary years.

Objectives
A team based activity that would provide the opportunity for interstate students and teachers to see the sights of Melbourne while working on team-work, communication and having fun!

Result
Over 500 excited students and teachers descended on the CBD in an extremely competitive Great Melbourne Pursuit. With state pride on the line, teams raced around to some iconic Melbourne landmarks such as the Queen Victoria Market and the Melbourne Gaol and participated in activities designed to test their teamwork and lateral thinking.

Australian Motoring Services Melbourne Amazing Race ®
  The Australian motoring organisations have established Australian Motoring Services Pty Ltd, to coordinate the clubs joint national commercial activities across a range of areas including tourism services, guide publishing and roadside assistance services to the wholesale market.

Objectives
The race was to be part of a conference. Each team was measured on their ability to work together as a team.

Result
This proved to be one of the most competitive Melbourne Amazing Race ® as all teams were racing for big prizes sponsored by AMS. Starting and finishing Hawthorn, teams participated in many physical challenges including Tennis rallies and Rock Climbing.

Walt Disney Melbourne Amazing Race ®
  Since its founding in 1923, The Walt Disney Company and its affiliated companies have remained faithful to their commitment to produce unparalleled entertainment experiences based on the rich legacy of quality creative content and exceptional storytelling.

Objectives
For the members of the Consumer products sector of the Walt Disney company the Race was to be a fun day out while also improving team work between the members from the various states and countries.

Result
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves with one of the highlights being the trip up to the 88th floor of the Eureka Tower. At the Skydeck all teams had a chance to enjoy the beautiful view of Melbourne.

EMC Melbourne Amazing Race ®
  Information is your most valuable asset. EMC knows how to make that asset pay dividends—through integrated hardware, software, and services.

Objectives
EMC treated one of their major clients, ANZ, to a fun Melbourne Amazing Race ® to thank them for their continuing patronage.

Result
Everyone had a great time with the clear highlight being Rap Jumping, where team members must propel themselves down a wall in a face-forward abseiling stunt. With the sun shining the Melbourne Amazing Race ® proved to be a great treat for the ANZ workers.

IGA Melbourne Amazing Race ®
  IGA (Independent Grocers Alliance) was founded in America in 1926 and represents an alliance between wholesalers, retailers and manufacturers. IGA became the vehicle for protecting and strengthening the relationship of the three players against the growth of the chain stores.

Objectives
The aim of IGA’s Melbourne Amazing Race ® was to get all their suppliers together in a fun and relaxed environment. The Melbourne Amazing Race ® was a way in which everyone who did not know each other could form important relationships that would hold firm once returning to the work place.

Result
At the conclusion of the race it was apparent that many of the suppliers who did not previously know each other had formed strong bonds due to their great team work. Activities such as bowling and pool ensured that all team members encouraged each other while having a lot of fun!

Shell Melbourne Amazing Race ®
  Shell’s aim is to meet the needs of society, in ways that are economically, socially and environmentally viable - now and in the future.

Objectives
The participants strived to reach Shell’s Goal Zero policy. To incorporate this goal into The Melbourne Amazing Race ® all team members had to try to complete their activities with no time penalties.

Result
All teams were able to complete the race in true Goal Zero style, with no time penalties as all team members successfully completed their activities and stuck to the rules. After being able to incorporate Goal Zero into the Race we trust that all the Shell workers returned to work with a strong understanding of the importance that this value has for Shell.

Fuji Xerox - Global Services Melbourne Amazing Race ®
  Photocopiers, copiers and document management solutions from Fuji Xerox make document printing, copying, sharing and storage easier than ever.

Objectives
To provide workers with a fun way in which to build team work and meet new people outside the office setting.

Result
All teams proved to be very competitive which lead to team members working very hard together to ensure they scored a top place at the end of the Melbourne Amazing Race ®. With the sun shining the Belgian Beer Café in St Kilda Rd proved to be an idyllic setting to reflect on the day.

3rd Public Great Melbourne Pursuit
  A beautiful spring day played host to Uplift Events 3rd public Great Melbourne Pursuit. Starting at Queensbridge Square in Southbank, over 200 competitors hit the streets of Melbourne in a huge urban adventure race to help raise funds to support the Royal Children's Hospital. Teams ate chilli pizza, drove huge 4x4s, rappelled down a building, sang karaoke and ran their way through the challenging Pursuit course which tested their teamwork and knowledge of Melbourne. The competition was again fierce with many re-competing teams vying for the top spot! In the end, 'The Western Warriors', 'Wingmen' & 'The Brickies' won the event in their respective female, male and mixed categories. Uplift Events would like to give a special thanks to Ragged Edge 4x4, Bolle, G.A.P Adventures, Pole Divas, Rap Jumping, Melbourne Indoor Paintball & Flight Experience for donating some fabulous prizes and supporting the event.

McLean Delmo / Kreston Melbourne Amazing Race ®
  Kreston International is an association of experienced, independent accounting and business advisory firms, each with its own established client base.

Objectives
A fun way in which to get Kreston worker’s from not just Melbourne but all of Australia and New Zealand together to explore the City of Melbourne.

Result
With participants running from Chinatown to Flagstaff Gardens, not to mention many other great Melbourne locations, everyone had a chance to explore Melbourne in all its wonders while completing excellent team building activities.

AXA City Challenge
  Objectives
A quick team building activity in the one area that was fun and got all teams to interact with each other.

Result
A 2 hour City Challenge with a fun mix of mental and team based challenges. In one of the challenges, teams were blindfolded and verbally guided by their team mates relying on listening skills, communication, trust to successfully complete the challenge.

Optus Melbourne Amazing Race ®
  Objectives
An activity that would focus on improving motivation and individual and team performance.

Result
An extremely competitive Melbourne Amazing Race ® with a combination of low impact mental challenges focusing on team building and a couple of fun challenges as well. People got to know each other better and team morale has improved.

Jemena Melbourne Amazing Race ®
  As a leading infrastructure management and development company, the team from Jemena were looking for a fun team building event as part of their conference in Melbourne. With colleagues from both Melbourne and interstate, the Melbourne Amazing Race ® was a great way for everyone to work with unfamiliar faces and see the beautiful sights of Melbourne. With a half day event planned, teams were treated to some great mental challenges as they made their way to iconic landmarks such as Southgate, the Immigration Museum and Federation Square. With several lead changes through the race, team Red demonstrated the best team cohesion when it mattered most and came home winners of the Melbourne Amazing Race ®.

Sensis Melbourne Amazing Race ®
  Corporate team building has never been so much fun until you have participated in an Uplift Events Melbourne Amazing Race ®. This is exactly what Sensis discovered when Uplift Events hosted a 2 hour Melbourne Amazing Race ® for them. Through a series of fun challenges that required communication, logic and teamwork, all teams discovered parts of Melbourne they had never been to and found out more about each other along the way as well. After an extremely competitive race, it was Team White who finished back at the office as the winners of the Melbourne Amazing Race ®.

August 2008 - 3rd public Great Melbourne Pursuit new sponsor - Ragged Edge 4x4
Uplift Events is pleased welcome Ragged Edge 4x4 as a major prize sponsor for the 3rd public Great Melbourne Pursuit. Ragged Edge 4x4 will be donating some fabulous prizes for the event worth over $3,000. Ragged Edge was established to develop extreme competition circuits, events and experiences. Port Melbourne Victoria is home to their 2,500sq.m Hire Drive course. Drive their purpose built 4x4’s through courses ranging from challenging to competition spec nasty.

Use the Online Community ‘Cool Tools’ page to assist with your preparation for the event. View the forums & blogs to discuss training, preparation, strategy & possible routes for the race. There is also a route planner for people to map out and work out distances between key locations in Melbourne, & help determine the best route to take to get from point A to point B. Australand Melbourne Amazing Race ®
  The social club committee from Australand decided that an Uplift Events Melbourne Amazing Race ® was the ideal team building activity to celebrate the results from the previous financial year. With a race design especially designed for them, the team from Australand were treated to many fun team building challenges including Rap Jumping (forward abseiling) to get them out of their comfort zones. Throughout the entire race, it was team Pink who showed the most poise and teamwork skills to end up the winners of the Melbourne Amazing Race ®.

July 2008 - 3rd public Great Melbourne Pursuit new supporter - BLVD Bar
Uplift Events is pleased to welcome BLVD Bar as a supporter for the Great Melbourne Pursuit on the 4th October 2008. Post event drinks will be held at BLVD Bar with the following specials for all participants competing in the event: $4 glass of house red, white or sparkling wines, $5 basic spirits & $5 coronas from 2:00pm - 6:00pm (participants have to be over 18 to purchase alcohol).

APP Corporation Great Melbourne Pursuit
  Six competitive teams from APP Corporation descended on Melbourne for the Great Melbourne Pursuit. Starting from St.Kilda Road, it took teams no time to plan their strategy and tackle each of the stages. With many mental and fun challenges facing all the teams, the event was the ideal team building exercise for the group. The extremely competitive teams posted some exceptionally quick finish times for the Pursuit course, but it was Team Black's consistency and team work that allowed them to win the Great Melbourne Pursuit.
