Uplift Events is proud to present Melbourne with the public Great Amazing Race.

This event is a hybrid of the popular Melbourne Amazing Race ® and the Great Melbourne Pursuit. Teams of 2 race around Melbourne and the inner suburbs visiting famous landmarks and locations while completing a variety of thrilling activities along the way. The event will again be supporting the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation, so get your registrations in early to avoid missing out on this popular and unique urban adventure race. Even if you have competed before, gather your partner, work colleague or friend and be blown away with what we have installed for this race.

Participants can also raise funds for the event and have family, friends and colleagues sponsor them.
The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation have partnered with Everyday Hero to provide an online fundraising webpage for each participant.

Whether competing or not, you can build your own ‘Hero‘ page and email your unique link to family, friends and colleagues to help support the cause by making a donation for the event.

So get a head start and be part of the ‘Great Amazing Race‘ and create an online fundraising page today. The individual who raises the most funds will be publicly recognised in the closing presentation and awarded a prize.

The last Great Pursuit event for those who managed to grab the special Spreets / Scoopon offer was held on the 12th May 2012. Almost 120 teams descended on the Melbourne CBD with many dressed in weird and wacky costumes. Teams enjoyed a visit to South Melbourne Market and got a chance to taste the famous South Melbourne dim sims as well as visits to a Chinatown Snooker parlour and the many parks and gardens around the city. Finishing in a respectably fast time was team #476 who won the event by only 4 minutes from the next best team.

Your director, boss or manager has been kidnapped by armed kidnappers and taken to an undisclosed location. However, the kidnappers left vital clues that teams will need to use to help find their missing team member. Starting from an office, conference venue or boardroom, Corporate Kidnap will have teams put on their detective hats as they solves clues and puzzles all over the city to track down the kidnappers.

The 5th Great Pursuit in the Melbourne CBD on the 29th April 2012 saw 120 teams battle it out over 3 hours on a pleasant Sunday afternoon. The event included some hardcore competitors and others who were there more for a bit of fun. Teams had their skills tested at quoits while eating a delicacy rarely seen in any restaurant. Other challenges included an observation puzzle and a skills challenge against another team. Team 282 were the eventual winners in the quickest time ever completed for one of these events.

Over 100 teams dressed in all sorts of wacky costumes came together for the 4th Great Pursuit in the Melbourne CBD on the 21st April 2012. Team encountered many challenges including a puzzle that tested their attention to detail, a sporting challenge and a challenge that pitted them against another team. It was a close fought event with the top three teams only separated by 4 minutes. Showing great resolve and planning, team 278 were the worthy winners of the Great Pursuit.

A warm sunny day greeted over 60 enthusiastic teams for the 3rd Great Pursuit at St Kilda on the 15th April 2012. Many teams showed their teamwork and skills at golf putting and frescobol while consuming the famous South Melbourne Market dim sims. Teams also enjoyed visits to a tattoo parlour for a temporary tattoo and a decoding challenge at St Kilda Pier.

With a bit of luck and great planning, Team #166 won the event in a very quick time.

Fifty enthusiastic teams participated in the Great Pursuit event at St Kilda on the 24th March 2012 on a cool but pleasant Melbourne day. Through a series of mental and physical challenges, teams encountered a flag decoding challenge, an eating challenge and a couple of sporting challenges amongst the other mandatory tasks they had to complete within the three hour time frame.

Showing great prowess at one of the sporting challenges was Team #111 who won the event by only one minute from Team #76.

The Vero Challenge took place in the Gold Coast with 9 teams from all over Australia, battling for the title of winners of the Vero Challenge. The event took teams across Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise. Teams were tested on their hand eye co-ordination with Frescobol, accuracy firing a .44 Magnum, nerves with a trip to the haunted house and dexterity on a segway course amongst other exciting challenges! The placings kept officials guessing but Team White with Navy’s consistent efforts win them 1st place! Congratulations to all their teams on their hard work during the Vero Challenge!

5 tribes from Ray White competed in City Survivor at the Waverly Netball Centre. The event required strong communication, problem solving and stomachs! Tribes ate items varying from chocolate bars to meal worms and powered through the mental and physical challenges that followed. Teams were highly competitive, with almost all teams winning a challenge. However the ‘Royal Blues’ teamwork and determination got them over the line as winners of City Survivor!

Get together and work as a team for participants from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and New Zealand.

Result
The team from GE Capital gathered from across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and New Zealand to form 10 competitive teams racing in the Great Pursuit. The event tested teams’ memory, karaoke ability and challenged their problem solving skills. The competitors visited various locations, taking photos and completing challenges and it was a close contest until the very end! Congratulations to Team Blue who were the victorious winners of the Great Pursuit.

Visiting the beautiful Woodman estate, the team from Sportsbet took on every task thrown at them in their City Challenge. The 4 teams kept officials on their toes as their co-ordination, knowledge and problem solving skills were put to the test. Although challenge victories were spread throughout the teams it was Team Blue that took home the title of winners of the City Challenge against the gorgeous views of the lake. Congratulations Team Blue!

6 teams from DKSH competed in the Melbourne Amazing Race^® visiting numerous Melbourne landmarks whilst solving mental puzzles, running blindfolded and going head to head in Bocce. While many of the teams battled to keep their place, Team White consistently blitzed the field with their outstanding team building and came out on top! Congratulations to Team White, the winners of the Melbourne Amazing Race^® and to the DKSH team for a great event.

An event that is fun and uplifting with a focus on team building.

Result
Six teams of inmates intimidated their fellow colleagues as they devised and strategised a plan to break out of the Bankwest high security prison. Demonstrating team work, communication and problem solving, each gang turned to the gang leaders for leadership to help them solve each of the challenges thrown at them. After bribing the prison guards and demonstrating some great strategy, the Dumas gang turned off the alarm and scaled the prison walls in the quickest time!

The non stop rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the 64 teams who participated in the Great Pursuit event at St Kilda on the 3rd March 2012. For 3 hours teams completed many fun challenges including a water obstacle course at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, an eating challenge of a famous South Melbourne delicacy and a flag decoding challenge along the pier.

Showing great planning and an ultra competitive streak were the ladies from Team #13 who won the event in a very impressive time.

Uplift Events is proud to launch Prison Break, the newest edition to our events portfolio! Develop your prison alter ego and interact with each other in a fun simulated environment.

Prison Break kicks off with inmates split into teams and developing a prison gang identity together with a back story. Inmates will get into character with fake tattoos, bandanas and several props provided to set the theme for the event. Throughout a series of fun, mental and strategic challenges, teams will work together to decipher clues, bribe guards and steal a master key, following a standard “Dummy’s Guide” to break out of prison plan – think Shawshank Redemption

Result
Eight very competitive teams from Grant Thornton competed in a Melbourne Amazing Race^®. Teams had their memory, puzzle solving skills, and handball skills tested. Their ability to work as a team shone through as they raced from Parliament Gardens, and visited Bourke Street Mall, Federation Square and QV on the way to the finish. In the end team ‘The Goonies’ led the majority of the race and were the winners! Congratulations to the whole Grant Thornton team for a very enjoyable Melbourne Amazing Race^®!
